Natural Homemade Face Wash Recipes

0

Last week I shared how I make my own natural facial cleanser recipes that work so well. But if you are struggling with finding the best combination of oils for your skin type, you might want to consider using this natural homemade face wash, it’s a bit lighter and very easy to use.

Why Use This Homemade Face Wash

  • These days many of wash our faces with harsh drying over the counter cleansers. Unfortunately while ridding our faces of dirt, grime and yesterdays makeup we are also wiping away our skins much needed natural oils. The skin does have a built in function that works hard to replace those oils, but the knock on effect is it often over compensates and produces too much oil leading to oily problem skin.
  • This natural homemade face wash has a cloudy look about it, this is due to the emulsifier ingredient Polysorbate 80. which is an oil-in-water emulsifier, it foams a little and helps to remove any traces of the cleanser when you use your homemade toner.
  • The shelf life on my homemade face wash is around 6 weeks or if using a preservative around  12 monthsmore info on shelf life.

Orange, Coconut & Lime Face Wash (All Skin Types)

I will show you how to make the best homemade face wash using my coconut and lime recipe, but its really easy to experiment with this recipe. As long as you keep to similar volumes of carrier oil and use around 10g liquid emulsifier (I’m using Polysorbate 80, but you can also use others) you can vary this recipe to suit (as seen in the extra recipes below).
